Doesnt this man seem like the greatest grandpa on earth? Well, he is! This is Travis's grandpa, he passed away March 22, 2011. He was sick a few years back but he passed away unexpectedly. We had his funeral on Satuday up in Idaho and it was the most outpouring of love I've ever felt towards someone. If anyone deserves the utmost respect, love and compassion, it's this man. This is Travis's best friend! They were inseperable. I met him a few years ago at Travis's farewell and homecoming and we became buddies ever since! I knew from that moment on that this man was a spiritual giant. We sat and talked about whatever you could think of for hours. Just from that small moment of time, he impacted my life in such a way I will never forget.
When Travis told me that day that his grandpa passed away, I was shocked! I couldnt believe that this was HIS time. He was so young and vibrant. Thats when I told Travis that I was comin up (to Idaho) for the funeral. When I got up there Friday night, I could feel the abundance of love and humility within the family and friends. His family is so caring, I felt at home. Grandpa Glen's funeral was beautiful! He wasnt the type of person that liked attention but whether he wanted it or not, he surely got it now. He deserved those hundreds of people that came out to show their love and respect to him and to his beautiful dear wife, grandma Pat.
With everything that has happened in both Travis and my life, I believe that grandpa Glen was telling us something. He definetly was here on earth to teach all of us the lessons of life and how to be better individuals. He was a remarkable example! Words cannot express how loving and giving he was. By knowing him, I am eternally grateful for the lessons he has taught not only myself and travis, but the rest of the world. We will all deeply miss you grandpa Glen and know that we will see you again someday soon!
